previous experience needed for utopias!”
Do
you imagine new social orders and alternative modes of political
engagement? Do you want to make your voice heard? Take part in a
one-off vocalisation performance at the Whitechapel Gallery on 3 July
2013 directed by the artists’ collective Ha Za Vu Zu.
Ha
Za Vu Zu are looking for 20 volunteers to take part in a vocalisation
performance which will take place on the opening evening of the
exhibition Spirit of Utopia at the Whitechapel Gallery on 3 July 2013
at 7.30pm.
You
do not need previous experience or a good singing voice, just the
ability to make sound and noise. This performance is open to all who
want to make a statement and use it as a gesture of reaction.
A
series of artist led 6
two-hour rehearsals
will take place at the Whitechapel Gallery in the mornings between 24
June – 2 July.
Time
commitment: 12 hours of rehearsal plus one performance.

Ha
Za Vu Zu is an artist collective based in Istanbul, Turkey who have
been working together since 2005. While the group’s practice ranges
from installations to videos to all manner of objects, their
particular strength is performances that play on the boundary between
performer and audience.
